For several months, I have been working on painting pictures based on the artwork from the 13th century Ramsey Psalter. I used acrylic inks on drafting vellum and glued each picture into my Bible as I finished it. There are 40 miniatures in the Ramsey Psalter, and I’m hoping to replicate  all of them. Ten pictures are completed, four are ready to paint, and I’m working on the drawings for three more. Here are three of the most recent. They are approximately 2 3/4″ x 5 1/4″.

I made this painting for a friend who left for her first year of college this August. Two days before it had to be ready, I decided to add a patterned background to the picture, so I spent a rather tedious day drawing circles and then painting them. I used acrylic inks on watercolor paper. St. Catherine of Alexandria, pray for us!

Happy Feast!

I hope everyone has a blessed Feast of the Transfiguration tomorrow! I just drew this little picture and colored it with pencils. I have been making drawings like this to paste into my Bible.
